So today is the big day. December 2nd. The official day of the bazaar. I have my table all set. I have the right change to give back. Things are looking great. To be honest. I was a little nervous this morning before I went in to the craft show. But I did have some help coming into the show. My parents came last night to set up the table since I was at work. So this mornig all I had to do was to see if I needed to change anything around. I brought my phone with me and some crocheting to do and I WAS READY! It was a busy day and that was okay. My best friend helped out for most of it which was really appreciated. Family came and supported me as well as my mom's best friend and one of the local MPs. The good thing was that I not only got the money back from the table but I also tripled it! Not that bad for my first show. I'd say that it was a success and I will moar likley will be back for next year. I was really happy with how everything turned out. Here are some pictures from today.

Okay, Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a teeny tiny bit about the ornaments..... by 60...... since I only have 40 ornaments for the craft show.... But it feels like I've made 100 of them though! Seriously though! But I am getting closer to what I need made for the craft show. I just need to make some cell phone cases, some more cowls and maybe a few more headbandz and that will be it hopefully. On the plus side, I'm currently working on an infinity scarf for it. I'll either be modelling it as something that I can make or be selling it. I am hoping to get a picture of everything together before the craft show to show all of you. But in the mean time, here is what I have so far.
So a few months ago, I got a $100 Walmart gift card from work. So the obvious choice for a yarnaholic would be the basic necessities of life, right? Food, clothes, stuff for the house? What are these things? Seriously..... who am I kidding? These things aren't our necessities! Yarn. Lots and lots of yarn. That's what I've bought. Lots of yarn to use for the craft show that I'm going to do in December. Different choices and colours. Life is great when I'm not the one that's paying for my not-so-secret addiction.... IF we are to call it as such..... But we're not.... Since saying that I have an addiction would imply that I would have a problem..... to yarn and crocheting..... which I won't..... Because it's not an addiction. Some people may beg to differ (*ahem* mom..... dad..... rest of the family), but I say otherwise. I also got some yarn for a project that I'm doing for someone that I care about that just got some big news in the mail. I can't wait to start the project and HOPEFULLY, I can at least take a picture of it before it's sent off to the person that it will belong to after so that I can share it with all of you. Can't say too much about it now, since I haven't given it to the person yet. However. In other news.... I've been working really hard on some of the stuff that I'm going to be making for the craft show and I've been working on some orders as well! One of them is completed and the other one is just about ready to go! Both will be picked up by the time I'm doing the craft show! Super excited about finishing the order that I'm working on. I'm already done about half of the order (a hat, scarf, and a headband) and I'm currently working on the ornaments! As soon as I'm done the ornaments, I will share them with all of you. In my next post, I will hopefully show you some of the stuff that I've already made for the craft show and some progress pictures as well on what I'm making next!
I Boxes.... Check...... Hats and scarves..... Check....... Toys..... Check...... Stocking stuffers..... Check...... Things are starting to take shape and I got pictures to prove it! Lots of hard work but things are going well. I have been working non-stop for the past little while to get things along for the craft show that I'm doing in December. I'm super excited about. The pictures that are in this post are just a few of what I'm actually going to be selling at the craft show. Some of the things that I have made for it have been hats, scarves, mug/thermo cozies, bookmarks, pin cushions, and I may through some toys in there as well. A little while back, one of my friends helped me put price tags on the stuff that I have already made. So that was a huge help. Plus I now know that I will need to get more price tags going forward. There is still a lot of things that I need to get done prior to the craft show. I'm currently working on some ornaments that I will sell as I got some yarn from my grandparent's place since my grandmother used to knit. So I'll be using some of the yarn that she had for the ornaments that I'll be making. Super excited to show you all what I have made for this craft show. I will write a post around the date of the craft show and I'll post some pictures of my table to show all of you what I have made and how it was set up. I've also made a bunch of hats and scarves earlier in the year as well as some coasters and hot plates for Christmas dinner. I've made some mug cozies as well. I'm super excited to make more things for the craft shows and I have other ideas that I want to execute as well! I am also hoping to make Christmas decorations as well. So hopefully I find some patterns for what I am hoping to make over the next couple of months in order to be ready. Since I have a lot of yarn from my grandmother, I'm always looking for ideas for the yarn that I have so that I don't have to go out and spend money on colours that I don't necessarily need. So if any of you lovely people have any ideas, feel free to let me know what you think will sell well for Christmas bazaars.
So I've made two new patterns. But one of them isn't quite ready to be released as of yet. But there is one that is released! It's called Very Berry Project Bag. It normally costs $2.50. BUT if you use a promotion code, you get it for 25% off! That's $1.87! It will be for this week only until July 16th at 11:59pm EST if you use promotion code NEW. You can find it here! I hope you all enjoy the pattern. I used three colours, two shades of pink and white. You can use three colours of your choice to represent whatever berry, melon or fruit (maybe even veggie!) of your choice. So if you want to do watermelon, you'd use green, white, and red for an example. If you want to increase the size, just expand the bottom by x-amount of rows as well as the height. I hope that you all enjoy this pattern as much as I do!
Some of the things I've been working on lately have been Christmas presents and some things for the Christmas craft show that I mentioned in my previous post. I've also been working on a new amigurumi pattern! I can't wait to show it all to everyone! There is one thing that I have to work on before sending it off to my testers and publishing it onto my Ravelry store. Unlike my previous pattern (Twisted Tornado Cowl. It can be downloaded here), it will be a paid pattern. I hope you all will enjoy it if you so choose to buy the pattern. I seriously can't wait to show all of you the new pattern! There *may* be a promo code when I let everyone know when the pattern is released. So keep a watchful eye out. It could come at anytime.
I've been working on somethings for the craft show off and on since I'm also working on Christmas gifts for the family..... Shhhh..... Don't tell them that I'm working on them..... Although some of them do know that I'm working on presents for other family members. I can't wait to see their faces on Christmas morning. I would feel bad the Christmas morning that I don't make them anything. It would almost be a naked feeling..... That and I'm sure they at least expect it now. I mean, after all, the blanket that I made my brother last year...... He didn't take off his blanket until we had to get changed to go to Christmas dinner at 12:00.... So he spent his morning until 11:00am in his blanket...... Which is now on his couch for all to see. I'm sure that he is getting all cozy in it when he watches tv on those cold winter nights. So this year, I've decided to try out some new patterns from Red Heart for my presents this year. I'm glad that so far, that all the patterns that I have worked on have worked out rather nicely. I'm also compiling a bunch of those patterns on a page that I'm going to post within the upcoming months from Red Heart. I am hoping that these can be a reference to you for possible patterns in the future. I have also put a disclaimer stating that the patterns are copyrighted and do not belong to me on the page. Just in case if there is anyone that works at Red Heart or knows someone that does sees that page so that they are aware that I am not posting them as my own. The other day, I actually got a gift card from work for Walmart..... for $100! When I told my parents what I had gotten, my dad had to ask me to repeat the amount. $100 for Walmart! My mom was half joking and half kidding when she had said "Imagine all the yarn possibilities!" I laughed and replied "I know! I am!" Now the question is, what colours to get when I go. So I have decided to do a craft show a few weeks ago in December so that people can get some of their holiday shopping done. Which I think is a great idea! I've already got a few hats and scarves done.... Probably a few to many. But at least I don't have to do a lot of them now during the summer. I'm also getting some amazing ideas since I got a whole bunch of yarn from my grandmother's place. So far the ideas that I've gotten have been key fobs, scrubbies, slippers, fingerless gloves, chap stick and hand sanitizer holders, market bags, pokeballs, ear warmers, cat toys (Apparently.... not a big cat fan, partly because I'm allergic if I get cat hair on my clothes), can cozies (or cup mitten), and boot cuffs. A lot of ideas I know. But I can't take credit for them all. I asked around in different crochet groups that I'm apart of on facebook and got all of them from those groups. I'm really looking forward to looking for these patterns and starting them for the craft show. It's going to be a lot of hard work. I know that for sure. But it will be worth it. I can't wait to do the craft show that I'm hoping to do in December.
I seem to be getting more and more patterns lately and I've decided to get myself a binder so that I can print some of them off and have them in a safe place so that I can reference them if I choose too. So far I have roughly 65 patterns printed and have a lot more to go. I probably have at least 200 or so saved on my laptop alone. So I have a lot to print off still. All of which are from my two favourite sites to get free patterns. What are they? They're Red Heart and Ravlery. Both of which are amazing for patterns. Although one key note for Ravelry is that there are some people who do charge for their patterns. Also keep an eye open for codes as well for Ravelry. Some designers offer codes from time to time for a discounted price or for free. Some of the patterns that I have gotten from Ravelry are paid patterns, but because I kept my open for codes, I used them and got the pattern for free. Codes could be anything that the designer wants it to be. It could be something like 'Christmas' or 'Birthday'. Some of these designers are in different groups on Facebook or they could have their own Facebook page. So if you have Facebook, keep an eye out for these codes! If not, there are still plenty of free patterns to go around if you know where to look.
So I'm starting to make stuff for Christmas presents. So far, I've made a hat and making a scarf to go with it. I'll take a picture of it once I'm done. I'm also hoping to make some more hats and scarves among other things as well. I'm looking into patterns that I can use for some of the presents this year. I'm not sure if I'm going to do what I did a few years ago where I made something for everyone in my family again or not. But if I do, I better get started on it soon. I've also printed off a few patterns from one of my favourite yarn brands website (Red Heart Yarns for those who are wondering).... And by a few.... I mean around 60 patterns... Some of which are actually Christmas patterns. So I'll probably make some of those patterns as Christmas gifts. I've also have quite the stash going for donations as well. It's funny to think about preparing for Christmas. For people who knit and/or crochet, we spend the summer months preparing for Christmas and the winter months. Then when the winter months come around, we prepare for the summer months and summer weddings.
On a side note, I've been requested to start a youtube channel sharing tutorials from one of my followers on Instagram. I have agreed to create a channel and will post the link as soon as I have a video or two on it. Until next time, fellow crochetaholics, Natalie There are many things that people can't live without, figuratively and literally. Food, water, and shelter being only some of the literal ones. If you're talking about hobbies, artists can't live without their chosen art materials (pencils, erasers, canvases, etc.). Musicians without their instrument and sheet music. Cooks without recipes and ingredients. As for us people who crochet and/or knit..... Yarn, yarn, and more yarn! I can't seem to get enough yarn. Thankfully I have a good stash right now. But when my yarn stash gets low and my finished products stash gets higher, I do have to admit, I get sad and a little bit empty...... Okay. You caught me.... A lot empty. But yarn isn't the only thing that I need to have for my crocheting. I also have several hooks, for both yarn and crochet thread.... Although I have yet to use crochet thread. I also have pom-pom makers, a yarn winder, pattern books, and a few baskets and buckets for my yarn. I also can't live without hand lotion. My hands do get dry when I work with yarn. Those things I can't seem to live without. They all have their uses when it comes to my crocheting..... For some people, they may say that I have an addiction..... But an addiction would imply that I would have a problem.... Right? But I am not going to admit that I am a crochet addict..... Although I will joke around that I am. I don't have a problem with crocheting. But I guess there are worse things to be addicted to if I were to admit that I am a crochet addict. Anyways. Those are the things that I can't seem to live without. What are your hobbies? What can't you live without?
