Soooo. As I had mentioned in previous posts, I was making a Christmas shawl before. Then I changed my mind and decided to make a Christmas pillow instead. Finally got the stuffing from Walmart yesterday and decided to finish the pillow today. I'm not sure if I need to add anything else to the pillow or not. I just don't want it to be busy.... You know? Anyways. Onto another project that I started a few days ago! Decided after all the Christmas presents that I've been making and realizing that I needed a better solution for keeping all of my crochet stuff somewhat organized, I finally decided to make myself a crochet organizer thingy-ma-jig. I will post a picture of it when the main part is done and then after it's completely done. I can't wait to show you all!

Weelll.... I kinda changed my mind about it. I'm now making it into a pillow!! I should be going to Walmart, Michael's, or Target to see if they have foam or something to stuff the pillow before I stitch it all up! I can't wait to see how well it looks when it's completed!! It'll look amazing! When it's all done, I'm debating if I should add a boarder on it, or not. So when I do end up stitching it all together, I'll post a picture of it and let you all help me decide!!!
On another note, I'm finally got some yarn from my sister when she came to visit over Thanksgiving weekend! I'll post a picture of them at some point in the next few days! So far, I've made something for one of the people on my Christmas list as an addition! Oh my gosh!!! It's almost my vacation week (In about four weeks!!). All I want is for it to come so I can get the two skeins of yarn that I NEED to get so I can finish some Christmas presents and to do the envelopes for them as well. It's almost in the middle of October and I'm trying to get them done as soon as I can so that all that I have to worry about is wrapping the presents and getting them ready for Christmas!!! Thankfully I have just a few more inches to do on my grandfather's blanket now so that should be completely done over the next couple of days (hopefully). I just hope that I have enough time when I finish the blanket and the two other works in progress that I will be able to start working on my shawl again and have it done for Christmas. I don't know if I'm going to sell it quite yet or wait until next year and get some more ideas to add to the shawl. Once it's done (without any additions), I will post a picture of it up here and my Facebook page. And no worries folks, I'm taking pictures of my presents once I've completed each one!!!
Okay.... So today I was working all day at my job right? Okay so when I got home from a busy day at work, I went upstairs to put my purse away in my room like I usually do when I'm putting some stuff away in my room. So when I got to the top of the stairs, I saw a ball of yarn and a head at the top of the stair case....... Yea yea yea. I said head. And before you say anything, it's not a Halloween prank that my mom played on me with the head. It's one of those Styrofoam heads. (I'll take a picture of it tomorrow. The one I have right now has a Christmas present on it. Woops!) She said that the head was a gift for me..... SCORE! Woot woot! Finally a Styrofoam head! I've been trying to get one for the longest time now. (Now I don't have to use my mom as a model to see how they turn out! She was excited!)
So back to what I'm trying to say here. So my mom also went to get some yarn for one of the Christmas presents that I'm working on. Thankfully, she got the same yarn that I wanted for my grandfather's blanket! YAY! So I'm starting to use that yarn and so far so great. I'm going to have a lot left over probably because she got me another big ball of yarn (as per my request if she went to another Walmart if I didn't get the chance to get to one first). Lucky me! Lucky day! Now, tomorrow, I'll be working on my grandfather's present all day most likely. Hopefully it's a nice enough day outside tomorrow to just sit out and enjoy the nice fall weather since it's in the forecast to be not such a nice weekend this weekend. Who knows! Anyways. Hopefully I get a lot of the blanket done tomorrow! Fingers crossed! After this one is done, only two more presents to be completed! |
